Pre-conference events and meetings
EPC 2024 is an excellent opportunity to meet! Prior to the start of the conference and in addition to the regular scientific program, some rooms are available for pre-conference events and side meetings.
Side meetings may never overlap with the scientific program.
All side meeting rooms are in the George |Square locations of the conference, within a few minutes walking distance of McEwan Hall.
Rooms available to book
The pre-conference rooms are available on Tuesday 11 June and Wednesday 12 June 2024, from 09:00 -17:00. Demand for bookings has been high, and remaining availability is listed below:

To make a booking
If you would like to make a booking for a pre-conference event/meeting, please send your request to epc2024scotland@st-andrews.ac.uk and we can see what is possible. Rooms will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
To help cover conference organisation costs rooms for side meetings come at a price. The costs to hire a room is Euro 500 for a half day (morning 9.00 – 13.00 or afternoon 13.00 – 17.00) and Euro 1000 for a full day. The costs of the large Lecture Theatre are Euro 1000 for a half day and Euro 2000 for a full day.
Any extra facilities (such as coffee/tea or lunch) are not included in the booking fee but can be arranged at an additional cost.
Since demand for side meetings is high, we strongly suggest that you book early.
Important: your booking will only be final once you have received the written confirmation from epc2024scotland@st-andrews.ac.uk and once you have paid the room rent to the account of the Local Organizing Committee at the University of St Andrews. Note that any extras should be paid on the spot.
Conditions of use
Please note that pre-conference events and meetings are separate from the European Population Conference 2024 and may not overlap with the regular scientific programme. You do not need to be a conference participant to attend. At the same time, registration for a pre-conference event/meeting does not give you access to the conference or any other side-meeting.
