European Population Conference
The European Population Conference (EPC) is the flagship event of EAPS. Organized since 1987, it convenes every other year in a different European city in collaboration with local partners. EPC is a general population conference and gathers participants from all over the world and from a wide range of disciplines to discuss the latest developments in demography and population research.
Hosting an EPC
The EAPS Council welcomes expressions of interest from the population research community to host the European Population Conference. Candidates are advised to consult the EPC Terms of Reference before making an offer. The Council prioritizes bids with a strong involvement and commitment of the local population research community that also demonstrate the capacity to organize a large scale event like EPC which usually gathers around a thousand participants. A final decision about the venue of EPC will be made no longer than 4 years before the event, allowing sufficient time for preparations. The first available hosting possibility is for EPC 2030.
